On August 2, 2019, however, the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ prototype was tested at Volkswagen’s facility in Ehra-Lessien, Germany, and reached a top speed of 304.77 mph. TÜV, Germany’s Technical Inspection Association, verified the Bugatti Chiron as the first production vehicle to break 300 mph. Other high-performance models like the Lamborghini Aventador barely scratch the surface of what the Chiron can accomplish.
The Bugatti Divo is also currently in production (2018 to present) with 40 units planned altogether. It’s a mid-engine, all-wheel-drive sports car named after Albert Divo — a Bugatti racer from the 1920s who won the Targa Florio twice.
What makes the Divo unique from the Veyron and Chiron is its downforce; it produces 198 pounds more than the Chiron and zips around the Nardò test track eight seconds quicker. It also has a higher lateral acceleration, allowing it to whip around curves with ease.
